A discussion site. Consists of thousands of "sub reddit" communities which concern different topics. The suitability and reliability of content will depend entirely on where you navigate. The more controversial / non child friendly communities are generally marked NSFW / 18+.

Reddit itself is quite trustworthy, as after 3 years on the site I've never once encountered a malicious bit of software or tracker imposed by them; the only caveat to that comes from the user generated content Reddit is made of, though there is an excellent system in place to shut it down when it appears or warn people of a possible risk.

A social media site where you can find (almost) anything under the sun. Including porn, so I'm not sure why everyone seems to rate this site child-friendly! The site is really big on anonymity, though, so you won't have to worry much about privacy, unless someone bothers to Google your username and you use the same one elsewhere. Depending on the "subreddit" (forum) you visit, you can find anything from news stories to memes to civil discussions to jokes to porn to blatantly dangerous satirical advice.

The self-described 'front page of the internet', Reddit is the Internet's foremost hive-mind and one of the most popular sites on the web (and yet cannot make itself profitable). Because the core tenet of the website is free speech, there is an anomalously high amount of sexism, racism, and general awfulness, as well as occasional pictures of failed abortions, dead kids, and nested trigger warnings.
