Apparently, I don`t know how much they charge for the articles' access, since I had access when I used to study at University. But, if skipping this important pricing topic, they have a decent database on different academic topics, unmatched, when you read a dissertation and google is not your assistant anymore. The best feature is search engine, very advanced filters, so you can find anything.

Adorable contents, when you need scientific papers soon and without scholarship credentials. A quick pdf overview can be done even without registration and this is sometimes what I need. However, it is often about unavailable papers which you can find in the search but cannot actually access. At these moment, the service is very frustrating and even misleading.

Website provides a hosting service for academic and scholarly journal articles uploaded by authors. The problem is that it accepts articles that are copyrighted. There is no check to confirm open access or Creative Commons licensing. Some articles are even misattributed to people who DID NOT write them! This is misleading, unethical, and possibly illegal. I don't know what percentage of the articles are legitimate. Also, by signing up with an email address to use this website, you will get lots of unwanted spam emails.

My boss got an invitation this morning, allegedly from me. The time this invitation was sent was while I was asleep. I do not remember ever inviting him. I consider this no less than phishing. The website itself looked great, kind of an academic LinkedIn. I get spammed about open positions etc. It's quite annoying, but I guess that if I look hard enough I can unsubscribe from these emails.
