CNET is an American tech media website that publishes reviews, news, articles, blogs, and podcasts on technology and consumer electronics globally. Owned by CBS Interactive. _______________________________________________ Cnet forces users to download files through their Cnet download manager which is pesky and suspicious.

Never download anything from this site. They bundle malware with the software without ever warning the user, which is horribly unethical on their part when they know how many people put their faith in them based on their reputation. It also makes the software makers look bad because naturally everyone will think it's their product that is inherently bad when that isn't the case. I don't know what happened to them because they used to be a trustworthy site but unfortunately this is no longer the case. Please stop supporting them and spread the word. Who knows how many viruses are being installed on people's computers without their knowledge thanks to C|Net.

BEWARE NOW! Cnet used to be my download site of choice. Now, I go to download DriverMax, their number one choice, and it wants to switch my home page to the AVG toolbar, and all of that dreaded crap that comes with it. It takes days to uninstall. DO NOT USE THIS SITE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO CHOOSE YOUR SEARCH ENGINE, HOME PAGE, ETC. Cnet has sold out. Try it. Download DriverMax and the download comes from Cnet, and you get AVG Toolbar. Good luck getting rid of it.

Sometimes I find valuable info on this site. But then there was today. I was referred to an article that was exactly on the topic I wanted. It talked about a product. But I decided before going further to check it out. There was a link to a white paper at the bottom. The white paper said the product works with Windows 2000, ME and XP. OK. Waaaaay Out of date. I should not be wasting my time. Boobie trap. THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT A DATE AT THE TOP. The thing was written 10 years ago. I needed something written in the last year. I believe I am more than justified in calling this useless. Its actually deceiving.
