Some of the ladies are fictitious but others are real and are desperate to escape the poverty of Ukraine/Russia. However, most of the genuine cases featured have poor English and register with a marriage agency to represent and interpret for them. The problem for male clients is that the agency conducts fictitious liaisons using subcontract authors in order to generate fees for exchanging messages. So even genuine women are duped and have no idea about the conversations carried on in their name. I have personal experience of this having met one of the duped ladies in another context! Unscrupulous agencies, re-use lady client details under multiple aliases and locations. Some also create characters using photos of models, porn actresses, or just stealing the identities of real women.
