it was a good public forum for sharing knowledge without greed. and nobody is even visiting the Scribd site, but when they bought Slideshare they screwed all the people's effort and vision who uploaded their slides free of cost as contribution. after such acts, Scribd might never see success.

However, there are also short "shows" that do not discuss the book or subject in question, but link to another download site of dubious safety—a kind of "bait and switch" deception.
