The SPLC is alleged to be a front group for one world govt. and to be descendants of the civilization killing Frankfort School of deviancy, counter Western Civilization sedition, anti-theist bigotry masked as of all things, a civil-rights group. Just don't dissent about anything they claim or you will end up on their Orwellian hate list. Essentially comprised of the same Brown Shirt crowd of avant garde, pseudo intellectuals elitists from which the NAZI movement began who's very existence is to coalesce through intimidation all free thought and free expression into a universal official doctrine that of course they control like the neo-NAZIs they are. Amoral, Neo-Bolshevik persecutors. SPLC is no more and no less than New-Age McCarthyism run by those subversives who survived McCarthy and this is their revenge. Simple. They should be sued and brought down under the RICO statutes as the discriminatory agent provocateurs they are.

This organization is no longer for civil rights but is falsely attacking individuals and organizations who hold tightly to Biblical, pro-God, beliefs - beliefs that do not approve of homosexual marriage. They are actually undermining the civil rights of those who hold to religious convictions outside the "politically correct" way of thought! The Southern Poverty Law Center should in NO WAY have a high WOT rating!

Gee, I see that the white Europeans are getting slammed. Great. Who do these people think were the slave holders and to think they justified it by the most filthy novel ever; the Bible. The sooner Dr. Hector Avalos gets his wish and the Bible is no longer considered a privelidged book, the sooner we can make the outdated and irrelevent crap it teaches illegal the sooner the country can open it eyes to the sham we've been forced to hear about. Oh happy day....Btw, the most insulting, arrogant, and vulgar comments I've received on any site were from Christians. Golly, ain't the Bible swell?

SPLC does admirable work against white supremacists and other hate groups. However, it tends to paint with a wide brush, and has applied the "hate group" label to some controversial targets at times in the past. SPLC devotes about 2/3 of it's annual income to programs, and about 1/3 to overhead; this is an OK ratio for a nonprofit. I have reservations about SLPC's privacy practices based on the sheer amount of direct mail I got from them when I lived in the United States.

The SPLC started out as a civil rights organization - one which I personally contributed to for years. As true racist groups like the KKK basically ceased to exist as anything more than a tiny group and as real racists acts became fewer and fewer, the SPLC turned to researching so-called "hate groups", calling almost any group that didn't agree with them a "hate group" or a group that is somehow connected to a "hate group". It raises huge amounts of money, pays its top staff huge salaries, and by and large does no civil rights work anymore because in chasing "hate groups" it doesn't have to prove anything in court. It can make baseless charges and continue shaking down well-meaning but unknowing people for donations.

While I certainly applaud the efforts which this site has made in teaching tolerance and educating the public about hate group activity, I still think caution may need to be taken on some of the information provided by the site, since it's still possible that information on certain subjects may be either incomplete or erroneous, despite the site's efforts to keep such information in order. For example, I tend to notice that the site accuses the right-wing of such activity much more than they do the leftists, when in fact, both sides tend to share equal guilt in such matters. As I said before, think about what you're reading before you believe it.
