THG is a site that tries to deliver the goods, but it's quite busy visually and tends to look like a mess on smaller screens. The Daily Tech section is probably the most timely, but their articles and comparisons are much more informative.
This is, generally, a good site. However, they've recently suggested builds using low-quality parts, and therefore the builds are unlikely to last long. Although more experienced people probably know this, people who are newbies at building likely don't and, if they follow the instructions from this site, may end up with a PC that doesn't last, thereby wasting their money. I wouldn't trust them - anymore.
Tom's Hardware is a good website to get other people's opinions. But just remember that's all it is; it's opinions. Sometimes you get good answers back, sometimes you don't...
Superb tech site, though not aimed at beginners; but because of the assumed level of knowledge of the reader, there is a great wealth and depth of technical info on computers and technology. Very thorough testing and benchmarks give very comprehensive info; when I'm considering a computer upgrade, I go here first to find out if it's worth doing.
This site has saved me so many hours of testing by virtue of all their in-depth testing that they have already done. It seems like every time I want to compare this thing or that thing they have already done it for me.
