This is Microsoft trying to insinuate that Torch is competition to its own offerings, like Edge or Chrome which it 'recommends', even suggesting that the base software has some data-leak issue or similar.... Ironic, when ALL three of these browsers are built over a Chromium foundation, and all the more so when Google and Microsoft are BOTH eavesdropping on EVERYONE & anyone in 'earshot' ***** I don't believe Torch intrudes in this way, and a built in torrent downloader is surely a boon, not a hindrance.
Boo hoo, it must be quite alright then, to be stifled for things which Google and Microsoft themselves sneakily do without our knowing, hey!

Criticism
Bundling of unwanted software
Torch Media receives payments from companies like ***** to bundle potentially unwanted programs with the browser. Users may be asked to install search toolbars or adware programs during installation.
While this practice is deemed controversial by some, users are given a chance to opt out of sponsored software and Torch claims to work fine without it.
The installation includes the installation of Movies App by Ask. There is no option to opt out. No information is given on what this app is and what it does.
This is a good site but always remember download from real site name not like CNET.com. Because I got an virus or malware before from their download site.
I am new just started using it a few days ago. Goggle says I can't check my email though. But it will let me log in to synced this and Goggle Chrome.
Site is hosted by Torch Media.
The browser comes equipped with a torrent downloader, media grabber, and much more cool features.
Been using Torch since 2014.
I haven't really installed it yet, for the reason that it forces the Movies toolbar by Ask onto your computer. After some research, I found that this toolbar tracks things like your ISP and websites you visit as stated by the following 2 websites. (http://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/7506-movies-toolbar) (http://malwaretips.com/blogs/movies-toolbar-removal/)
The developers deny this, saying that their browser "does not include spyware or adware" (http://support.torchbrowser.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/5/3/does-torch-contain-adware-and-spyware) and also say that the toolbar is completely optional. (http://support.torchbrowser.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/32/3/i-installed-torch-and-a-new-toolbar-appeared-on-another-browser-why)
If you looking for a Chromium-based browser that still allows you to import extensions that aren't from the Chrome Web Store, Torch may be a suitable option. However, Torch unfortunately comes bundled with Ask, and Torch Shopping seems highly sketchy. Also, because Torch uses the Chromium engine, it also has a WebRTC vulnerability that may be troublesome for VPN and proxy users who do not know how to fix DNS leaks. I would recommend Firefox over Torch because many of the appealing features of Torch can be added to Firefox with some simple extensions on its official web store, without all of the bundled junk Torch tries to sneak in.
Virus: Win32.Adware.Bandoo.A
If you don´t want to have a virus and unwanted software on your PC, don´t install this crap here.

Thank you Havver for the kind words...
Not sure why you say Torch takes up too much hard drive space though. It doesn't have any special space requirements.

Hi Viteni, this sounds a little strange... we suggest you try again, maybe download the full/offline installer from www.torchbrowser.com - this sometimes helps when people have issues installing.
