Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Susan G. Komen is the boldest community fueling the best science and making the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer.

The Susan G Komen foundation has made some questionable ethical decisions as of late. They have attempted to pull funding from Planned Parenthood, which was an important resource for many lower income women for breast cancer screening, capitulating from the pressure from anti-abortion groups. They spend money that could be going to good causes on bringing lawsuits against other breast cancer charities, who must then spend money defending themselves. Most recently, they have refused donations from a pornography website. They have utterly pinkwashed the campaign against breast cancer, and they have started to behave less like a charity and more like a corporate political lobby.
