Today, I scanned FYTDSetup.exe, which is a newly named setup package for the latest update, on VirusTotal, and no threats were detected. When I reached the "Select Additional Tasks" portion of the installation process, there was a tiny checkbox at the bottom of the setup package, labeled "Create recommended partner shortcuts on the Desktop," that I almost missed. The recommended partner shortcuts link to some adware. But, compared to the kind of applications the previous versions have tried to sneak past their users, the adware seems quite tame. However, this checkbox could easily be missed by inattentive users during installation. The previous version of YouTube Downloader, which was installed through a setup package called FreeYoutubeDownloaderIC.exe, had a 15/54 detection ratio on VirusTotal. So, avoid automatic updates, and manually download the setup packages for future versions just so you can double-check whether they're safe or not. Their program comes with at least six malicious PUPs. It gives you a bunch of registry keys to remove even if you opt out of partner installation. It's not safe to download this program, too many risks involved. Blacklisted by HP Hosts (a site endorsed by Malwarebytes) for the distribution of malware. That is proof it is not safe. I think this website is safe but the product is ***** I mean I downloaded this product 2 times, on my first installed its clearly fine no any consequences. when I updated it I got adware/malware name "Webcake" so I decided to uninstall the product and download it again but its the same. So I decide restored it on the old version using system restore and never ever updated the FYTD util now. My version is v3.5.136.0 TIP: do not update this product if you installed this product without any consequences. This is base on my experience.

In an earlier post, I told of Youtube Downloader (not to be confused with Youtube Downloader Toolbar) and the accompanying program PC Fix Speed (My Clean PC a company being investigated for illegal activities and laden with viruses). I had ran an antivirus program before I even pulled up the internet, and there was no viruses. After I started to install Youtube Downloader, and it asked me if I wanted to download PC Fix Speed, this caused me to cancel the install so that I could check out PC Fix Speed. It was then that I learned that this program was My Clean PC. After exiting the internet, my antivirus program told me that a trojan virus was on my computer, and I had it remove the virus. I then ran a virus scan. What I found amazed me. There was two trojans, one tracking cookie, 34 malware, and 101 traces put in several of my computer's files (all were removed). I, then, checked my C drive and Hkey files (this procedure is not recommended for those who not know computer technology, for one can do more damage then any virus) for any remnants of Youtube Downloader that might remain. Downloaded installer (download sent me to Cnet for it), and it was filled with multiple dubious toolbars, search engines, etc. (how dangerous, I didn't verify) , with very confusing and almost hidden Opt-Outs. I fell for one almost hidden Out-Out, such that the installer took over my computer and tried to get me to install all the junkware again on every reboot before I found how to stop this. (When I removed the pre-selected checkbox, it did stop annoying me.)

If you pay attention when you download and un-check the extra stuff they want you to download which is very spammy, and just DL the youtube downloader, I think you will be fine. It the additional stuff that I am weary of and that doesn't come from THIS site

Quería darle un visto bueno puesto la gran valoracion que le tienen al software en cnet...sin embargo este programa al igual que muchos otros incluye en su instalador la opción de instalar un software llamado autocompletepro ***** cuyo sitio no es muy bien valorado aqui...directamente tambien ofrece instalar accesos directos de "nuestros socios" al igual que el famoso unlocker...una lastima porque si bien se puede omitir viene activado por defecto....y la cuestion es que siendo un programa gratuito para un usuario desprevenido automaticamente este programa le cambiaria la pagina de inicio (que solo se puede omitir en modo de instalacion) avanzada y tambien programas ***** es para nada ***** esta lmpio! saludos!
