And if they are incompetent, whoever buys their products is also an incompetent admin
After purchasing more than 15 Dell Desktops and laptops for myself and family members through the years I QUIT purchasing Dells. The purchases go fine BUT customer service has ALOT of problems. Its hard to communicate with them, they try to pacify you with BS and try to write you off as a Dell owner after your warranty runs out unless you agree to pay a high price for another one. They put you on hold and you sit forever until someone with true knowledge comes back to the phone. I have purchased tablets from them that last less than 6 months before needing new mother boards.
I've purchased from Dell for many of my desktops/notebooks and have been please both with the support as well as the product. I always select pro support rather than standard because it is US based and a much higher quality.
I've heard complaints about standard support.
We are owning a bunch of Dell C6100 servers. They most power efficient servers that we ever been using. You get a dual cpu 4 node cluster within 2U.
Building HA or HP scenarios makes really fun with those servers. Regrettably they do not own a "real" raid controller. If you want so, you have to cable the servers individually, what is a really hard task as there is not much space in the case.
