epinions can be sometimes useful, but some people do online PR there. one has to be careful with some products and look for additional review as a support.

Many years ago I used to write reviews for Epinions. Those of us who did reviews really tried to share our honest experiences with the products in question. But review sites are prone to a number of problems (as is WOT, frankly) including reviewers motivated by bias, vindictiveness, boredom, trolling, etc. and/or limited by their knowledge or very limited experience (having had a new car for one week, for example). Take it with a grain of salt, but it's not an unsafe site by any means.

Try to get a hold of the owners of this site. If you have a bad review about company they do nothing about it. I have tried for years to get a hold of someone for the one bad review that I can not dispute.

Another site that doesn't actually have the item googled though it comes up as having it on the google search page. Such a waste of time searching through for the item when it is not in fact on the site!!!

Epinions.com’s reputation system is not abuse-proof, but the company maintains a Customer Care unit should a dispute arise.[4] Early in 2000 the San Francisco Chronicle interviewed co-founder Mike Speiser and early member Brian Koller, with Speiser claiming the system prevents advertorials from getting exposure, but Koller saying: "There is a lot of 'You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours,' and mutual admiration societies.
