Facebook do have your safety in mind, trouble is it's a target for rogue applications, always read what you are allowing when you use a new application, Look out for iffy requests like "Allow access to Facebook Chat" and "allow to post to friends walls". Allowing these kind os Requests usully leads to random spamming and Malware

WOT is a excellent application found under Firefox, I feel at ease when browsing. I recommend downloading WOT for safe searching. If you are looking for private info: Banking, Credit, Store Outlets etc., you will have a better fore-thought if the site you have chosen is real or a set up before you enter. Real "Service" of facebook is not available. You have to help yourself. From time to time there is a privacy accident---everyone can see everything of each other. I heard no excuse.Facebook contains, if the user wants it, private letters and private diaries. This things are private. None would on a visit in real life go to the desk of somebody else an read his/her letters ..I dont write my moneydatas, nor very private things--I can email this in old fashioned way by an email server. Only whats good for the whole friendgroup I share. What happenes when these datas are robbed ???In a dictatur state like Iran and someones writes about Jesus? Iran will kill him/her because of sacrileg in ***** exampel..

I cant use it, because Facebook claimes, my PC is infected. Its not infected. There is no contact to reach facebook with this technical problem. Since two days I cant write in facebook, cant contact my facebook friends. .I hope facebook reads this and help to solve the problems, yahoo is better but more diffucult to start--but most friends use facebook not yahoo Facebook is responsible for its bad costumer service--there is none ecxept texts to read

Facebook is like a huge PA system for all its members. Going forward, Television will adopt some of the Facebook functionality like blocking things that you don't like. Imagine if TV viewers could block adverts that were annoying by just pressing a button or using a voice activated remote control. This is the direction that I see things evolving.

Facebook API is way too accessible and no-one really knows what kind of intentions external programmers have since apps developed for facebook are removed after the damage has been done; instead of screening every apps prior to deployment on the facebook cloud. Simple example: Calendar application, is totally useless, since facebook maintains own calendars for every user's birthday etc. but if you allow this application in your account it gets access to almost everything you have on facebook and it spams itself to your friends. Many more of these examples can be found, where facebook apps are requesting to undo virtually every privacy setting you tried to setup. The security builtin features of Facebook are hard to oversee, even Windows Live has a more transparent security settings interface. I litterly have to assist some folks since it's such a confusing interface for security and privacy settings.

Really good social networking site. Have to be careful what groups you join and who you add. Other than that it is very useful to talk to family and friends safely. Children under 13 should'nt use it due to T&C on their site and plus people are generally misleading.

While Facebook is a good site with good intentions, the applications and links that people post on it (which Facebook does not have complete or immediate control over yet can take action to correct later) may lead users to negative consequences, including malware, spyware, viruses, adult content, and other negative experiences. While I have had a generally wonderful experience on Facebook, I would caution parents that have children and users that are not familiar with the internet. Clicking on ads or applications that look appealing may lead you down paths that can go the negative places that could leave you with a computer that doesn't work well, not at all, or provides you with content you don't wish to view. I've personally helped a number of friends who've gone down that road. Again, Facebook can be a great social networking experience for you, your friends, and your family. However, use caution in who you make friends with if you don't know them, and don't click links from people you don't know or trust.
