this website is completely useless and wot you really need to change the ratings - bases on comment statistics wastebook has less than 1000 good points and about 10000 bad points so why the stats are so good , come on
As the biggest social networking site on the web I think Facebook has done a pretty good job of creating a user centric interface that is easy to use. The site is a fantastic platform for social networking, and, via it's share/like system, it's made me aware of tons of great content that my friends on facebook share and use. Aside from some TOS/Privacy issues in the past, I think facebook is a good, entertaining site.
FaceBook has several problems. First, FaceBook has issues with actually following and living up to their own posted Terms Of Services. We have actively followed these problems for 2 years now. We have actively tested out these problems for 2 years.
The Terms Of Services problems consist of 1) allowing profiles to be pornographic in nature, for extended periods of time, even when complained about and reported. One such profile continually posted up porn videos and photos for 1 1/2 years, before no longer showing up on FaceBook. Tango One Enterprises had 30 of our employees sign up with FaceBook. Anytime a profile that showed off pornographic content or sent out pornographic spam, was encountered by one of our employees, all 30 employees then sena report T.O.S. violation report, via FaceBooks own system. 2) FaceBook deletes the accounts of people who actually report profiles that have explicit pornographic content, instead of deleting the profile violating the T.O.S. via pornographic content, FaceBook deletes the user reporting such a violation. When reporting T.O.S. employees that reported violations, had their profiles deactivated. Employees would then re-sign up with FaceBook. We would bookmark violating profiles, and when we re-signed up with FaceBook, try re-visiting the profile with the pornographic content. 9 out of 10 times, we were able to re-visit the original profile with pornographic content, via the bookmarked page. If we reproted the pornographic content again, we would find ourselfs once again deleted. 3) FaceBook allows minor children under the age of 13 on their web site. with our 30 employees, we found 4 of our own employees, and 78 other people, who had set up profiles for their minor children, under the age of 13. It was easy to do. we even reported the profiles of people that we knew where minor children under the age of 13, only to have Facebook delete the reporting profile.
FaceBook's Privacy Terms violations. we created special e mail accounts on our servers to monitor our FaceBook accounts. we only used these special e mail accounts for signing up for FaceBook. We even set our privacy preference so that we would get no notifications of anything. Unfortunately, we were spammed quite often by FaceBook. On 1 day, 1 of our special e mail accounts received over 350 notices/e mails from FaceBook. Even though our communication preferences had been set so that we should be getting no notices from FaceBook. When we added those e mails to our spam filters, we would get notices when we signed into FaceBook, that we needed to update our contact information, and our accounts would be deleted if we did not provide FaceBook with a valid e mail for them to contact us at. We also bouth burn phones so we could "verify" ourselfs by using FaceBooks mobile phone number registration, we also never placed these numbers in our profiles, we only used them for faceBook "verification". Our burn phones were registered under one name while our FaceBook accounts were registered under another name. Some of the names we registered our burn phones under were utterly ridiculous, like Eycie Wheeinier, or Charles Focker. We made sure that we got totally unused/never used new numbers. After registering our phone numbers with FaceBook, we would get calls looking for the people with the faceBook listed name for that phone number. This is how we could tell the phone number had come from FaceBook, and not a bought list from the phone company.
Other problems we have encountered wit FaceBook. Several times while on FaceBook, our computer systems anti-virus programs kicked in and we got virus alerts.
I should note here, that when I mention "We" in my above posting, I am talking about the employees of Tango One Enterprises who have been participating in the FaceBook research project. I should also note that this is an on going project that has been actively on going for the last 2 years. We video tape everything we do on FaceBook, do screen captures, and we do live data capturing right from the computer. Our systems are also set up to archive the pages we visit on an interval of every 3 seconds. And we have dedicated computers for FaceBook only. We are doing this because we are participating in and initiating a law suite against against FaceBook on a class action level, to force FaceBook to actually live up to and follow their own stated and posted terms of service. All problems posted here, are currently still active and on going problems.
This website of Brain Host's is a business page on Facebook. Therefore, this page should be rated very highly or Facebook would not leave it up very long. Brain Host is a web hosting Company and all business's are looking for business. There are not a lot of Web Hosting Companies out there and Brain Host is one of the better ones if not the BEST. I've had numerous problems(I hate WordPress) so I was looking for solutions and their support staff was extremely knowledgeable and I soon had my problems taken care of.
Be always critical on what you put on FB and what you make public to whom.
FB has the aim to collect as much data and people they can and to make that public as much as possible. You yourself are responsible for blocking what you want.
Don't allow them to check your E mail contact persons list !
Privacy issues; they keep your personal info around after it's deleted. The founder isn't that nice, to say the least (the movie was a huge understatement), and it's trying to get a monopoly on the internet, it seems, based on that "share your comment on facebook" button right below.
Facebook - an excellent site where you can easily communicate with their best friends, look at the great stars and politicians. Participate in different communities. This is the coolest social network!
Privacy is very questionable. From photo auto-tagging as a default, social apps (instant personalization also enabled by default without notifying users of its implementation), personalized ads, high potential for phishing scams, the fact facebook maintains the right to store pictures and content on its server indefinitely, regardless of whether you delete it or not, etc.
