Useless claims presented without evidence as click bait so that they can sell advert space to a bunch of really nasty, scammy clients. Why would anyone defend it? The news is useless and reviewers concede that the advertisers are all crooks. Only those planting positive reviews would defend it. "They don't distribute the malware, their advertisers do. They just get paid to post it". What kind of defense is that??? The home page is coded so that you really can't get down to the contact link, as more crap stories continue to load. You have to ook at the code source to see the link. They love to respond and act sincere. Really? Why is your domain registration information obfuscated? "We're a sincere site...but we're going to do business with a bag over our head". They also run these domains. ***** firsttoknow.com ***** ***** All are run by STRONG FEESH, LLC, a California entity. A California entity whose status is "cancelled", and not allowed to transact business, as a result. The other DBA names are not registered, as required by law. If you're really sincere, comply with the law and take the bag off when you rebut a review. Still run by David E. Weber? And why all the Cali distraction? Strong Feesh, LLC's main address is in New York city. And how smart are they that they've done all that to obfuscate their identity that it takes me 10 minutes to find out it's Strong Feesh, LLC. "Feesh". As in "What the feesh?" Yeah, it's a puerile substitute for the f-word. What's not to trust?!?

I see nothing wrong with this site. Sponsored ads are clearly marked. I marked to be cautious for kids because news isn't always kid friendly.

Good Site, but I would be careful of the Popups, and Ad's some of those can lead to harmful websites.

This is a surprisingly GOOD website, as of October 2014. There are NO pop-up's, no annoying video's, no adult language. Posts such as this are moving and educational, not sensationalist hxxp://firsttoknow.com/15-fascinating-photos-past-youve-probably-never-seen/ There are more tracking cookies than I would like e.g. adnxs and akamai. Otherwise, a good, safe website undeserving of yellow WOT status.

They are not hosting malware. Some of the ads lead to questionable product websites but they are not malicious.
4
Many links to very questionable content claiming medical 'miracles', anti-aging, etc. as an examples: http://firsttoknow.com/?s=Anti%20Aging *****

Hi Guys, Thanks for the feedback. We replied to this at length in the WOT forums https://www.mywot.com/en/forum/41506-firsttoknow-com but here's a quick summary. We do link to sponsored content, either on our site or to partner sites. We mark those articles as "Sponsored" on the image and article. We also disclose that in our legal notice, found here: http://firsttoknow.com/about-first-to-know-sponsored-articles-copyright-statement/ The links to what you're describing as "miracle cures" are supplied by Yahoo!'s search engine. We generate revenue from Yahoo! when a user searches for articles or topics in our search bar, or when they click the "Popular Topics" text links posted on the bottom right rail. These are NOT supplied by First to Know. We've looked into the Yahoo! feed, and haven't found a way to filter out one type of search result from another. However, as we said, we make money from that Yahoo placement. So, with that in mind, we deliberately highlight those search results to differentiate them from the rest of the main FTK content. Thanks for letting us have a moment to explain.
This Website is just useless. It contains "trivia" information of mostly originated in china which cannot be checked for actual truth or content. There are far better pages out there that deliver "real" new information.

Dear Willi-Burkhardt, We're sorry that you didn't enjoy the content on FTK. We understand that not everyone appreciates those slide shows or crazy stories. However, they do all come from legit news sources, such as the UK's Daily Mail, or have been verified in a similar manner. We don't make up stories. We also changed some of our content in the new year. If you check it out again, you may enjoy it more. Addressing your SPAM statement about our site -- FTK doesn't SPAM its readers. SPAM is defined as "irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients." We don't send emails to our readers unless they sign up for the newsletter, and there's a double-opt-in to make sure they really want to get emails from us. We don't have malware on our site, either. If you would, please reconsider your "spam" ranking of our site. We're not asking you to give us a gold star if you don't like what you're reading, but we do ask that the evaluation be more accurate. Thanks!
I found the site to be informative. It cleverly pulls from and connects to many reputable news sources and creates its own original content as well. Very compelling stuff.

Can you please reevaluate your rating of First to Know. We're not sure what you saw on the site that you considered malware, but we don't put that on our website. Likewise, as you'll see from all the entries listed above, no one else is finding malware on the site either. If you see something suspicious that you want to bring to our attention, please do. We're trying to produce a really good user experience and want to take care of any issues that may pop up. Thanks! FTK team
