Many commenters on Fox disregard science and make misleading claims, some appear to think science is somehow a scam to milk the wealthy or destroy the USA. Yes, I have spent the time to read and listen to Fox News.
Fox News Channel (FNC), also known as Fox News, is an American basic cable and satellite news television channel that is owned by the Fox Entertainment Group subsidiary of 21st Century Fox. As of August 2013, approximately 97,186,000 American households (85.1% of cable, satellite & telco customers) receive the Fox News Channel. The channel broadcasts primarily from studios at Rockefeller Center in New York City.
Overall: Fox "News" is a far right wing tabloid that occasionally reports actual news. Their site itself is well-maintained and free of malware. So if right-wing sensationalism is what you're into, have fun. Useful for the rest of us to see what the loonies are up to.
Opinions/Politics: Should be obvious.
Misleading: I don't usually downgrade WOT ratings for biased content, as long as the site is honest about it. But Fox calls itself a news agency, and its slogan is "Fair and Balanced". It is, of course, none of these things. Hence the yellow label.
(Almost included a hate/discrimination tag, but I decided not to since the site's particular brand of racism typically falls shy of actually harassing people.)
Child Safety: No complaints, but seriously. Just buy your kid a puppy.
Fox News is about as unbiased as MSNBC, meaning it's just as slanted and agenda-driven as any left-leaning source. It's the conservative equivalent of CNN and for both networks, money is the goal. CNN caters to liberals, Fox to conservatives. You won't get the whole story from either. If you want REAL unfiltered, unbiased news without a reporter telling you what a politician REALLY means, head on over to C-SPAN!
C-SPAN gives all sides a fair hearing without injecting the telecaster's opinions. There is nothing better in my view. http://www.c-span.org
Fox is not by any means fair or balanced. They do bring people of opposing views onto their network, only to talk over them and fight their views as if this is some medieval entertainment. They have frequently lied about, skewed, or refused to report stories. It caters only to far-right Republican Christians. If you want real news, I suggest the BBC.
Though many may watch this program anyway as comedy or for psychiatric understanding of the American right-wing, I strongly advise against allowing children to watch this network, as they are young and often highly susceptible to lies. You do not want them thinking this is, by any means, truth. If you must watch Fox, and you believe it to be true, I suggest fact-checking it using something like Snopes if you refuse to do actual research.
