Godaddy Founder shoots elephants: http://www.cnn.com/2011/BUSINESS/04/01/godaddy.peta.protest/index.html?hpt=T2
But more seriously, godaddy's hosting goes down AT LEAST twice a month. I've had sites suddenly stop working quite often and customer service is just awful.
GoDaddy publicly supported the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) with any knowledge of the consequences it could have on the internet users.
It has also shifted its opinions quickly upon public criticism just to keep their customers. An unreliable company. Avoid.
Company that supported Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) with little to no knowledge of consequences it would have on the internet and flow of information. From one who actually provides means to share the same information, its low of the lowest. Unpredictable company, quickly shifting to opinions that will attract more customers. Avoid.
Among other things they send frequent annoying advertising emails when you've merely enquired about a domain, not entered into a contract. Technical support and abuse departments appear to be woefully underresourced. Give the impression of a company where any desire for quality is sacrificed for profit. It's not just a function of their size; even large companies can care about what they do. If you're looking to register a domain name or host a site, look elsewhere.
Just to add insult to injury on all these complaints here, they support SOPA and PIPA, which are bills that are designed to strangle and censor the internet.
If that's not a declaration of war against civil liberty and human rights, I don't know what is.
This company has gone out of its way to ask Congress for Internet-hostile legislation. When the public found out about them, they shifted toward neutrality instead of trying to undo the damage they caused.
