I Think It Goes Without Saying, Everyone Knows That Google, Bing, Yahoo, And All Other Sites Like Them Are Information Collector's And Distributors. But In Case There Are Some That Don't Know; Every Single Site You Visit Leaves Behind A Cookie On Your Hard Drive That Keeps Tabs On What You Did While You Where There, Your Settings (Example; Remembers Dating Site Search Preferences) And On Lesser Quality Sites Records Login Information. Google And The Others Collect The Information In Those Cookies To Direct Advertising They Think You Will Be Interested In They Also Sell That Information To People Who Are In The Business Of Advertising. That Advertising Is Displayed On Web Sites You Visit As A Banner Ad But They Also Send It To Any E-Mail Addresses They Can Get From Those Cookies. Watch The Status Bar As A Web Page Loads, Most Web Sites Also Load Something From ads.googleads.com
Sami: google makes their money off all the ads and scams they promote. So unless you want tracking cookies that last for years and lots of ads its not really "free".
Firsou: google got hacked not long ago and someone stole the source code for their top secret gaia program which connects all of goggles services into one which would have litter screwed everyone if the hacker managed to plant a keylogger or Trojan in it.

Yes, anything. Kids security isn't very well.
I suggest a parental control on every search.
Also it is absolutely the tool for information.
