HP is shipping computers without the Original Genuine OS discs,
and then when I called them I was told that my brand new computer is not covered under warranty and they would do nothing to help me except sell me a copy of the restore disc that I can make my self for free.
Bought an HP Optical 4 Button USB Mouse. Didn't work when followed the simple instructions. Called the support line, at first he was cordial... (though very hard to understand due to his lack of understanding English, and could not get the employee's name, due to his thick (possibly Indian) accent, his English phrases were poor, I had to ask him politely to clarify what he meant several times every few minutes) he was unwilling to help, claiming that the warranty expired. I just opened it up that day! (This early evening: Aug. 16, 2010)
I asked for at least help with troubleshooting with the mouse, or at least a referral to where I could get help, but instead, He began fast talking me into buying another HP mouse as the only solution.
I then asked if it was possible that I could get a refund, or at least a similar mouse. He refused, and repeated that I could buy another HP mouse, or allow him access to my computer remotely...... (At this point, I was beginning to get suspicious of his behavior, I already knew his only interest was a sale, but this seemed like a red-flag, and seemed shady) I told him I could not log onto my computer, because my previous mouse was broken (Which is true), and the only mouse I had available didn't work (Their product, also true).
...He eventually became hostile and belittling (he must have been frustrated that he could not trick me into a sale or returning it to the store for credit, and that I would only settle for a complete refund or replacement.) he knew the phone conversation was recorded, and was clever to be subtle about his tone and implied that I was inferior to him, so it would either make him appear as a good negotiator/employee), then I apologized, and told him I would have to file a complaint and/or sue the company, because this was absolutely unfair.
He verbally began harassing/intimidated me using subtle/carefully chosen words in a very cold tone, and then laughed at me (Very clever use of entrapment by intimidation/goading me, but his plan failed, as I am not that naive, and have dealt with similar tactics before by such people). I said "Thank You!" politely, and then quickly hung up.
I'm worried that he has the house number now...
Please everyone, even if you haven't had a bad experience with HP yet, please support the boycott of HP and all associated with them!
To those wronged by HP, please join a class action lawsuit if it is pending, as there may very well soon be one starting if I find one not already in motion.
HP does not deserve any money, and I intend not to settle, and will pursue the maximum penalty available, and will seek a public court suit, to bring the truth to light.
My intention if I personally win the lawsuit, is for the all the remaining money awarded (after everyone involved who comes forward is compensated financially) to public schools that have not received up to date books and computers.
The schools righteously deserve and need the money!
Not Hewlett-Packard Company! They don't deserve any money (Especially if this is a common practice, they deserve to have their business license revoked and as much money taken from them as possible!) with their unfair policies, and lack of oversight over sociopathic (taught these unfair/hostile tactics by HP, or is merely mentally ill himself, and should be fired anyway.) customer support!
