I have been a user of LastPass for about three months based on a recommendation on the Kim Kommando web-site/radio show. I have owned a PC since the early 1990's, so I have a bit of computer experience.
I am paying customer of LastPass in order to have access to my unique passwords on my mobile phone and to share passwords with family members (handy for banking/financial websites).
Regarding the service of LastPass. Within the last week they suspected a data breach, I received an E-mail within 24 hours of the suspected breach (before Cnet.com even reported on it). They suggested I change my master password, then change passwords for all the web-sites I had saved on their service. They reassured me that the "front end data" (user name, email, master password) was separate from the 256bit encrypted passwords which was not likely compromised. I was glad they did not wait to communicate with their customers. I understand that as a password management site they are a prime target, but since they deal with government contracts and offer a paid service, I have confidence that their security measures are top notch and recommend their free or paid service.
As for their website, using Win7 with Kaspersky AV and the FireFox browwer with the following Add-0ns, I never get reports of nefarious activity when visiting the website:
Excellent way to beef up your security. The only concern you might have is do you trust them not to give away your passwords to government organisations or if they get hacked. Hence why I gave them 4 out of 5.
Last pass is fast and to some degree reliable. The only problems I have had with it were being so fast that I would sign out and get signed back in in the blink of an eye and having multiple passwords for a site. That was before I learned how to use it properly.
Safe website owned by LastPass & Xmarks. LastPass brands include LastPass Password manager and Xmarks Bookmark Manager (formerly foxmarks.com).
Xmarks offers bookmark synchronization, search enhancement and web discovery based on sites bookmarked by users.
LastPass is a secure web browser based Password Manager and Form Filler.
Fantastic service for managing passwords and ensuring your account is secure. 256 bit encryption, and you only need to remember a single master password. My only real gripe about this service is that the mobile app runs its own browser and won't work for the login on other apps meaning users need to use the mobile website versions of services.
Danke lastpass! So was brauch ich nicht!!!!
Tja das wars dann wohl! NIE WIEDER!
