Gawker media was great about notifying all of their users, on the site and through email, that they had a data spill of user accounts and passwords. They made sure to inform everyone to change their passwords and be aware of suspicious email. The speed and wide spread account of this incident earned some more respect from me!
The company behind Lifehacker got hacked a while back loosing the passwords and other info of registered users. No big deal, and not likely to happen again, but don't give them your primary email-adress or any passwords you use for something important.
Otherwise great site, good way to stay on top of computer news and a nice way to waste a few hours.
Good site with informative content, however noting Gawkers recent brushes with hacker infiltration, I would be hesitant to put any personal information here. Just my opinion, other than that they are great.
