It's a straightforwardly informational site and completely safe, providing information that the world needs to hear. All my five sites are in some degree negatively / harmfully impacted by WOT's reliance on an intrinsically unreliable and inaccurate rating system, and two of those sites have poor safety ratings (the other three being still unrated after many years, and one of those having a whole string of experience-based 5-star user reviews). I can see for myself that there's no 'dubious' material of any kind on this site, just as there isn't on any of my own sites. The fact that this site is still flagged as unsafe, and making completely false suggestions that it may contain harmful or otherwise undesirable content speaks volumes about WOT's almost Putin-like suppression of what is uncomfortable for it to hear -- that we need it like a great hole in the head. There's masses of much more accurate and reliable Web protection programs and brower add-ons out there, and It's not just the inaccuracy of the rating system and consequent liberal scattering of 'false positive' poor safety ratings, but the way the WOT people completely side-step or stonewall whenever one reports the serious WOT rating errors, harming many completely safe and high-quality sites. That is my current experience (look up my current blog post about that), and what one sees reported widely on the Internet.

"Let me just say that the information espoused on the site is widely accepted by the greater majority of the world for a very long time." is false, of course. The majority of the world doesn't care about websites not written in Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic, French, Russian or their native language. It's unwise to start throwing stones, when living in a glass house.

Many are just simply judging by the content itself and protecting WOT. Also, this site is aiming for a bad reputation to help prove everything on the page.

I agree with the site owner. MyWOT although could help patrolling the internet, in fact gives too much power to unverified and biased opinions to rate a site. What is worse is that the owners of mywot do not have a system to verify the claims of the raters and do not do enough to maintain the site. I am talking form personal experience. There was an issue with my site with a DNS hijacking and I got reported to mywot for a SUBLR blacklisting. Although I removed the problem by creating a stealth DNS just 2 weeks after the incident and removed the blacklisting from the SUBLR site, now 4-5 months after notifying mywot support the mywot blacklisting (claiming SUBLR listing) is still there. Their response was that the system is under reconstruction and that I have to wait. I asked that if removing the SUBLR listing is not possible to remove the site entry completely because it affects the reputation and the readership for the site by spreading untrue information. To this date, after months of requesting 3 times the removal the inaccurate SUBLR blacklisting is still posted on mywot for my site. Therefore, just by judging from my personal experience I tend to agree to this site owner that WOT is rather doing harm than helping making a safer Internet browsing experience. Spreading inaccurate or obsolete information is worse than not doing anything at all If WOT wants to do what it claims, it has to have a reliable system that is responsive and verifies the information. I met volunteer moderators of the site that were very helpful, however, they had no power over removing the untrue listing information. There has to be a better way of managing this site especially not allowing ratings without strong written arguments and ban ratings with no comments and most importantly to verify the blacklisting information and proceed accordingly.

Well, this site is perfectly safe, no malware, so I trust is for that, but there is some malicious content aimed at WOT. All it is is a WordPress blog. I have a few, too. Of course, I highly disagree with the content of this site because WOT is a great tool, but there is nothing wrong with the site itself. All the people who gave this site a red rating were actually violating the WOT guidelines, which specifically say that you are not to rate a site based on whether you agree on it's content. Basically, I can't give a political candidate a terrible rating on their website just because they are a crook. If their site is trustworthy, there's no reason for a poor rating. I do have to mark this site down with misleading claims, because it is clearly false information. At the end of the blog, he basically curses and says "who in thier right mind would use this addon?". Well, that would be me. The only significant evidence there is is that WOT doesn't scan sites, it only is user opinion. True, and sometimes user opinion is better than scans that don't always catch everything!!! He also spews out tons of hatred against the addon. Hey, compared to Webutation, WOT is an AMAZING addon! To conclude, this site is full of misleading claims and lies as well as hate against WOT and it's users. If you want a good laugh, go ahead and visit the site, but don't believe a word.

This site has DISGRACEFUL badmouthing of the site. It even knows this by over-emphasising their "facts" to the point where it becomes outright uneducated. Samples: "Notice under “Trustworthiness” that users can deem a site to have “malware, ad-ware, etc.. WOT has no such tools to do this." -mywotlies.wordpress.com . These people might just want to stir up controversy around the community, who try their best to give adequate ratings. It seems their "review" was just them spouting hate-speech about this wonderful service. I absolutely despise the review that they imply is legitimate, but is really just a poorly written complaint letter. Example: "At least some people know what the “Web of Trust” is really about–spamming the web and trying to get people to buy trust badges for 30 euros per month." ***** So I recently came back to the site after about 3 weeks with a slightly different opinion. I actually found more about this site that makes them even more suspicious. It is actually harder to game WOT than you might think, and that WOT isn't the sole defining factor of a site's worth. I must stress that WOT is not an antivirus, it is a forum. The purpose of WOT is to warn you of threats that OTHER PEOPLE have discovered and discuss potential hazards. I think the reviewer has missed the point of what WOT is about. It is to used IN CONJUNCTION to common sense. Granted a tiny portion of what he says is true but not much. I updated this review because I wanted to re-find old reviewed sites and rewrite them to reflect future opinions. Thanks for your time, and don't just dismiss haters, find out if their sources are true and fair. This new opinion does not change my ratings however. I still think that, because this site is adding emphasis and purposely setting it up to be an awful troll spamming site and such, I am not restraining my previous rating. It still sounds like uneducated dribble that had no though or research into it. Therefore I cannot see any sign of legitimacy in this site. Thank-you for reading this. A website that discriminates against myWOT as a form of propaganda and offers little evidence to support his claims. Technically safe but the misleading and highly misinformed nature with the huge walls of text pushes myWOT as a paid tool and is trying harm legitimate websites traffic which clearly again is wrong. The rating reliability is well hidden from users and only modeators can see these. Also the reliability relies on a inference model which requires a consistent record for scorecards to be influenced by that persons rating. This person is clearly spreading his own lies. Rated Poor. HOWEVER...the page does speak an earnest truth about myWOT, it is very undermoderated allowing even infected sites a green rating. This needs to be fixed.

I am a myWOT user and have used the service for years - I have found it useful for warnings about malicious sites and will continue to use it. However, today after having read the user ratings for this site, it is obvious that this site is not harmful, contains no hate speech, and there is no adult content. All it contains is opinions, for which it has been slated by some in the myWOT community. Quite frankly it's a disgusting abuse of myWOT. Surely there should be some guidance from myWOT which states you shouldn't simply mistrust a website because you disagree with the opinions of the site creator. Sadly, I think continuation of this practice will eventually bring myWOT into disrepute. Incidentally I only visited the website rated here because I had seen a myWOT untrusted warning for another site which was clearly just controversial opinion, and I decided to investigate why myWOT had rated them badly. The erroneous ratings for this site, and the other I visited, clearly shows that myWOT can't be fully trusted any more, so now I need to take any negative ratings with a pinch of salt - which of course defeats the purpose of myWOT. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.
