This is very sadly one of the most popular site/portal in China, yet it puts intrusive codes in nearly all of their products (games, IM, download accelerator). Contents are lousy in general (gossip, biased news and a lot of Ads), although not all contents are completely useless. However, there are other sites offering better information without harmful downloads.
Listed Mcfee SiteAdviser(*1) as 20+ files included malicious: trojan, adware... some trojan are downloader&dropper.
#Hidden between the news in the site?? I wonder.

RACISM
What else? QQ is being used by a fifth of the world's population - virtually everybody who have a computer in China uses QQ, and I don't see the Chinese network being destroyed by viruses.
QQ, the Chinese equivalent of MSN, the second if not the most popular IM software and all-rounder network across every corner of the world, is infected? Be delusional if you want, but several billion users say it's safe.
I would give this site a yellow rating, because it has a lot of advertisements. Read the Wikipedia article and make your own decisions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tencent_QQ
QQ is the leading company in China for online chat rooms, QQ.com hosts a variety of topics from online games to the latest topics, including e-mail services to online advertising.
GOOD:
Not only a good online site hosting anything to everything even to blogs, it's an overall entertaining and informative site.
BAD:
Some of its links or downloads may be potentially unsafe, but they are not associated with QQ and QQ will warn you if you're leaving their sites, downloads in their external links are at your own risk.
NOTE:
McAfee SiteAdvisor may say it's a red site, but since McAfee branded a lot of harmless Chinese domains as red, I no longer trusts their judgements, as I use those sites and find no harm. Personally I think it's a racism view on Chinese sites
