SCAMMERS!!! I HAVE LOST OVER 400 EURO!!! I ordered a phone on 21st of May 2016. 10 days later they said that they don't have it. So, I chose a different one. Then again silence for many days and no progress. On 9th of June I lost my patience and requested a full refund. When I am writting this comment, it is 7th of July and I haven't got my money back yet. Refund status on their website is: > Refund on Priority Rank > Apologies for the inconvenience. Your refund is on priority rank and is being treated with precedence. We will contact you once the refund is finalized. Every time I remind them that they owe my money, I get the same kind of answer. Today I have got this: > It is with great regret to hear that your funds have not been refunded yet. > Our management team is looking into the delay. Refunds on the whole are normally processed much quicker. This could be related to a system issue on our part, but it would be unwise of me to speculate at this time. > I have queried your refund request for you once more. We will be in contact if we need any further information from you facilitate the refund. I'd like to warn everybody to stay away from them! Got a phone from Simply Electronics and was told that its “Usually dispatched in 2-3 business days” but have heard nothing for a week. Have no idea when or if my delivery is ever going to be dispatched or even arrive. I tried connecting them but have had no response I find the website very misleading due to the delivery time and the award for good customer service

Not to be trusted at all. thankfully,had purchased a camera and lens via Paypal. They (simply electronic) gave me all sorts of excuses as to why my order could not be made. They had of course taken £1560 odd out of my account. Simply electronic must be avoided at all costs. They only concurred with my requests for a refund when i involved Paypal. Thank you so much the latter.

Ordered and paid in full for an item but they wouldn't deliver to my wife's work address unless I gave them proof that she worked there and signed an indemnity form. Have told them to cancel the order and refund my card. Awaiting their response.

Ordered a 300€ phone two years ago. Never got the phone. Asked for a refund but, despite many emails over 6 months confirming it was in progress, never got it. I've seen many people reporting similar scenarios.

I purchased a Canon 580 MK II flash for $510 they acknowledge the sale and withdrew the money from my credit card then refused to send it to me until I sent them photocopies of personal information I checked on the internet and found lots of people had the same problems with them and had difficulty getting refunds also, so I contacted the Australian police and they advised me not to give them such private information and first ask for a refund and if they will not give it to me, to come back to them and they will look into it. They should warn people they will be wanting such personal information before they take the money out of our accounts not after. The following is a copy of their letter after they took the money Dear Eric, We have generated a support ticket to help us track your inquiry. Your ticket code is LTK145033530953X. Please use this ticket in any further communication relating to this matter. Greetings from SimplyElectronics. We understand that you have made a purchase on 9 May 2011 and we are delighted that you have chosen us for your product(s). Due to recent increases in the number of fraud transactions on e-commerce sites, we are required to perform verification checks on customers to authenticate payment authorisations. This is to protect consumers and online retailers such as ourselves, as we are committed to preventing fraud and reporting any known cases to the police and relevant banks. The address check system we use is obtained using our credit card company and RBS WorldPay; both of which are reputable companies with high representations in the UK online market. Further to this, we want to reassure you that we respect your privacy and your security completely, and will not pass on your information to any third parties. We are a reputable company with offices based in the UK, and have had excellent feedback on review sites such as www.reviewcentre.com. Best Regards, Leslie Grant Customer Service Executive After the police said not to give the information to them, I sent them this following letter telling them I had been to the police, to show them I was not going to let it go as others had not got their refunds. ====== Your Inquiry ====== I purchased a Canon 580 MKII Speadlight from you and you have withdrawn the $512.21 AUD. I then received an email from you acknowledging the purchase and then another email saying you were withholding the purchase until I sent you my personal ID information photocopy ( passport / drivers license / utility payment for l credit card) I have reported this to the Australian police and they have advised me not to give out this personal information and to ask for a refund first, and if I don't receive it come back and let them know and they will look into it. So I will not be sending my personal information and want to cancel the order and have my money returned. They kept postponing shipping the ordered goods and, when I decided to cancel my order, it took them almost a month to refund. Keep as far away as possible!

Promised delivery within days. Kept making excuses. Would not cancel order when items had not been dispatched after 3 months. Would not give any estimated date for delivery after items paid for. IF YOU BUY FROM THIS SITE YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT MONTHS FOR YOUR PURCHASE

This turns out to be a Hong Kong based supplier with some unattractive terms and conditions, including an odd one "YOU, AND NOT SIMPLYELECTRONICS.NET, ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING ANY UNAUTHORIZED AMOUNTS BILLED TO YOUR CREDIT CARD BY A THIRD PARTY" . What are they up to with a T&C like that?

Don't make the mistake of getting sucked into this whorl pool of shady business. The price might seem right, but that's the only thing they've got going. If you've seen the TV ad with the woman calling customer service for her phone company and getting pasted around the room from one character to another in some seedy eastern European back office, dealing with Simply Electronics is of the same ilk. Substitute Hong Kong and lace in a pile of emails.

I placed an order on February 27th 2011. After a month of waiting and getting nothing but excuses from them, I canceled the order on March 30th 2011. They accepted the cancellation and said I was getting a refund. At the time of this writing, May 8th 2011, I still haven't got my money back. I absolutely discourage anyone from buying from them. Update (27/05/2011): Still nothing. I haven't got my money back yet. Update (30/06/2011): Finally, I got my money back!! I took "only" four months.

Advertises as UK firm, but ships from Hong Kong. There will be customs issues if you order from within EU.

I was waiting a few months for a refund when after placing an order for lenses they said there is no lenses in stock.

As a result of some of the unfavourable reviews on this site I was a little nervous about my order. I didn't like not being informed about dispatch delays (1-2 days the site quoted; my experience was 4-5). But their support team was responsive when I asked and did deliver what I ordered. I would buy from here again.
