The primary issue is that you have to examine all of the download links to find the legitimate one. It's about like that scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where he has to pick the right chalice.
It's a safe site as long as you pay close attention. One careless click and you can end up with questionable software on your system.
Have been battling this malware for the last 3 weeks. When downloaded, any attempt to uninstall was thwarted. On attempts said program did not exist. To uninstall one is required to download from their site an "uninstall program". When I saw, that I knew I was in trouble. Did not install their uninstall program. After weeks I found an Unlocker program. With that and Spybot. It's now gone. I hope.
Spam domains and probably useless or harmful software. They have polluted internet with their useless web pages on multiple subdomain. It supposed to be about rare or old software but there are just spam links on their sites.

I suspected informer.com of being a failed business currently being repurposed for SEO-optimized cyber scamming, but this is unlikely and I could find no evidence of this. However, just the malware is enough to keep me away.
