TL;DR: tentaculos.net is an affiliate of Pulpo Media that targets advertising to Hispanics. They seem to have a clear understanding that they should handle PII and non-PII data carefully. They decent privacy and opt-out policy at ***** I first encountered this site as a link on Verizon.net's web site. From Google's cached version of http://tentaculos.net: "We radically improve the performance of online advertising for the Global Hispanic markets. At Pulpo Media, we are building the leading Hispanic Online Media Services company. We deliver marketing and publishing tools to improve targeting, messaging and overall online advertising effectiveness. This translates into increased performance and better localization for Advertisers and their brands, higher revenue and more relevant campaigns for publishers and data providers, and a better user experience for Hispanics on the web. Tentaculos™ is the technology platform powering Pulpo Media Inc." So, they are basically an advertising company with a specific bent toward Hispanic markets. There is also a link to http://www.pulpomedia.com/, which is the parent/root company. The privacy policy at that site ( ***** ) seems pretty reasonable. If you type data into a form, they collect it. They will share it with the company that's paying for their ad platform. They will also share it with "outside vendors and other contractors" as needed to fulfill orders and transactions. It's pretty hard to get that new widget to you if they can't share your name and address with FedEx. If they get a court order, they'll cough up your PII. I do take pause in the paragraph where they may share your PII for "other purposes." That's pretty malleable. They may also include your PII as an asset in a sale or bankruptcy settlement. That is borderline shady, but it's a common practice, nowadays. They have a clear link on how to opt out of their service, which requires you to accept their opt-out cookie, and you must perform it on each machine and within every browser you use. (There's no good way around that as far as I know that would constitute some form of user tracking on its own.)
