Not a good business. They charge 1000s of pounds for a course which is outdated and poorly organised. You only get 3 years to complete the course, including the certification tests, which can take up to 1.5 years to do correctly. The course material barely prepares you for the certification projects. If you don't finish everything in the 3 years, there are no extensions other than paid. The company they refer you to is owned by them, even though they claim otherwise. It's just a way for them to get even more money from you. If you want to learn computer development, enrol in code academy or Udacity. Their courses are free, their certifications are a lot cheaper, and the material they teach is so much better than T2G.

Reviewed 2012-11-19, updated ***** Full text of previous reviews available below. My boyfriend has reached the end of his three years and has had his access cut off. Each time T2G updated the course, he had to start again, and was promised a six-month extension each time this happened. He was also informed that a one-year extension was given as a matter of course. Now the three years have elapsed, he has been given a paltry five months. And they're dragging their feet about giving him access to the rest of his course, too. It's almost as if once you've paid, they don't want to know you, and want to do everything in their power to avoid people graduating. I can no longer recommend this site, which is a shame, since they looked so promising. It seems the qualification updates are designed in such a way as to keep you from completing the course. My first updated review on 2013-09-09: Offers City & Guilds nationally-recognised qualifications, Diplomas from TIGA (the games industry association), or doing one course to obtain both. My boyfriend is on their Computer Game Programming course and has had nothing but good things to say about them. He has received support from their community forums and tutor team whenever he's asked for it. Also included are live Internet lectures which have been held regularly throughout the summer, and on-demand replays are available of all sessions, whether you're on the appropriate course or a different one. Also, Train2game have recently updated their training materials and now use Visual Studio 2012 (the updated textbooks and Visual Studio 2012 were sent to him as part of the course), so they do a good job of keeping up with the times. My original review of 2012-11-19: Train2game certainly seem legitimate. My partner has signed up for a course. A rep came to visit and left the course details with us to look over, then came back for signatures. The cost of the course is indeed £4990 but it is paid throughout the course with no interest payable. The course details look very impressive and far better than comparable courses I've looked at for free online. The course itself, so far, is up to date. Though perhaps the best evidence for this company's authenticity is to ring up a couple of bigger games developers in this country - Train2game diplomas have gotten people hired as developers.

Hey there, i was recently interested in this company but after some research (shown below) DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM! After doing a quick google search i found this on yahoo answers: ***** In the post it is stated that the owner also owns a few other similar companies, many of which have been listed by watchdog (google these, anyone in the UK will know about them). Personal Experiences with them:They advertise via phishing spam mail. I also had a member of their staff come over for an interview. They will give you tests and such to 'test if you are suitible', which you always will be. They are very pushy and will try to make you sign a contract then and there ***DO NOT DO THIS*** the course can cost anywhere between £3-5k and according to sources in the above link, are outdated and free versions can be found on the internet (quoting a gentleman from microsoft here). You will find many posts stating that it is a good course, however these are usually fake accounts and or new accounts that are used to get their rating back up. Please do not speak to these people, you can get a much more up-to-date course from a home uni course that has nationally reconised qualifications.

I'm on the programmer course and although people have claimed it to be a phising scam and such, In that case they are not doing it in a very smart way. They send people out to talk to you and evaluate you whether you can should actually be on the....I talked with him for about 4 hours and expressed concerns about it being a scam, his reply was "well I'm not making much money sitting here talking to you am I?", I'm sure sceptics will have counter arguments and what have you but thus far the content I have received has been very good and very well presented, structured and taught.

Many people see this site as a scam or some other privacy theft etc. I am actually doing the games designer course with no problems what so ever.
4
tries to take money for tutorials that are normally FREE

Contrary to a lot of posts and information that is not backed up around the internet, this site is genuine and do not just charge you for tutorials you can get for free. Both professional and informative, Train2Game are a relatively new distance learning based company focusing on games development, design and art.
