Received spam linking to this site. After review, lots of hacked, spammy hosted sites under that domain. Also after leaving this review, An employee of trellian sent me a private message requesting me to remove my rating. so not only do they harbor scammers and hackers, but they even try to pressure / threaten reviewers for good reviews!

I tried their free web editor and it installed a toolbar without permission and basically hijacked my computer. I uninstalled it almost immediately after that. Sept 2010 I received a request July 2010 to re-do my rating (though there are apparently 3 folks that have agreed with it) and there's a comment that they clearly have you accept that a toolbar will be installed but as I recall that was not the case in 2008 when I wrote the review. In fact it's the only site I've ever, so far, given a bad rating but I haven't been back since. Maybe it's improved.

I am from Trellian and just want to explain that we are not a spam site and none of our products contain viruses/spyware/malware. We are against spam and all of our products are checked for viruses/spyware/malware with several tools before being released to the public. The toolbar bundled with our free WebPage editor does not contain spyware/malware. Our toolbar displays PI rank, Alexa rank and Google PageRank. To get these ranks, the current URL of your browser is sent to our servers. Alexa and Google toolbars behave the same way. No other information is sent to our servers. It states clearly in the terms and conditions you agree to before installing WebPage that the toolbar will be installed and you are free to uninstall the toolbar if you wish.
