after credit karma tax return. I now ask myself what TurboTax is pulling? so I get $1048 from credit karma and $948 from TurboTax with the cost of an upgrade. why did 1099-mise cost me from TurboTax when both data is the same? I don't think I will ever try to use Turbo Tax ever again!

Intuit is huge in its field - the 800 pound gorilla. The site is safe to browse. On the down side, Intuit does not give full disclosure. They make it very hard to determine which version to use - unless you have a single form of income and no special circumstances. And they keep urging you to buy a more expensive version. The guided part of TT is ok, but some items are not fully explained - or clearly so. I know the tax code is monstrous, but it is Intuit's business, so they should do better. Oh yes, they do beat all the other progs out there, unless you are willing to do part of the work yourself - or even do your taxes by hand - but that is another story.

Read every thing that pops up on this site, it is a mine field of extra pay options and features, that are added on without your knowledge or any alert that you just agreed to pay extra fees.
