Driver Support solved my problem of my desktop computer CPU fan overheating & also solved my speaker problem of no audio except for by using headphones. This is my second day as a subscriber to their service & I am happy to pay them $10 USD every month to receive their service. It saved me the cost of buying a new computer. My ten year old desktop runs great now that it has been fixed by Driver Support. IMO most older computers that are still working good just need to have their ISP service speed boosted up & do not need to be replaced until later when they can no longer keep up with the then current needs as data loads are constantly rising on computers. Well done Driver Support.

In a word, bait and switch. It comes up on Google as Freeware, but then when you go to set up an account, which you have to do, it wants you to enter your credit card information for $9.99/mon subscription. It might work, but didn't proceed due their deceptive practices.

I am aware as many of the commenters report here, that the issues are not with viruses or other software issues either with the download or on the site itself. I usually do not go to sites that WOT shows a 'GO BACK' warning or the bar across the top continuing the warnings, if one chooses to ignore the first 'red circle' warnings. I am not concerned with these software issues as I have more than sufficient protection from such attacks. Actually, I installed the program, naively thinking it was a free app, as I had not seen this one before. I did not come here until AFTER I uninstalled it, when the previously unstated cost of this little gem, not $9.95, but rather $9.95 per month!! Who uses a driver updater so often that it needs a monthly monitor, to oversee Microsoft WIndows updates, that continually ensure that the machine has the required drivers, as do the utilities provided by chipset mfrs., that keep their own drivers up to date. So the reason I am upset, is because it is not stated BEFORE it is downloaded, installed, and then before it goes any further, the familiar logos for VISA/MC pop up and in a far corner shows in bold 48 pt font $9.95, and accompanied by the tiny 10 pt text, '/mo'. Just these little tricks used by those people who KNOW they are doing something to get people to fork over the cash and many being unaware until several months down the road, examining their card statement, with a "what the h*ll is THIS?", and tracking it back, find it is this driver update monthly charge, even tho' you only used it once, when you first got it, because you wanted to ensure you had all the correct drivers, then forgot it. I hate deception, especially when it is so deliberate. And anyone who does this, probably has embedded data miners, collects and sells email addresses, and does everything it can to line its coffers. So from this point on, when I get a WOT Warning: "Unsafe- Go Back", I am doing exactly that. Basically, If I see the WOT circle in the URL box, in any color but green, I am gone!

Look, the guy (I presume) that runs the site is probably an above-board person with a one-way, "you lose and he wins "business plan. Read his "contract terms" relating to your participation in his "gimme money" plan to install his software on your machine so that he can adroitly install driver updates which he has so laboriously obtained from the program creators themselves. He is an opportunist, and he has an opportunity to snare you into his "Gimme Money$$$" contract, IF YOU ARE STUPID!!

PC optimization scam with false scan results - application has never worked as described - appears to contain malware I purchased the ***** application for $9.99 to analyze and download missing or updated drivers reported by the "free" version of this program. A one-time $9.99 seemed to be a fair price for testing the effectiveness of such a product. SCAM ALERT! They don't make it clear that they will bill you on a monthly subscription basis. So far I have been billed $109.89 for this software that has never worked as described by vendor. In short, if you run the application and it will report 21 or more outdated drivers and offer to download them. I could never install them, because they were always for a different version of MS Windows. I visited my PC manufacturer's diagnostic site and found out that all my drivers were up to date. ***** is more than a fraud. The application loads malware onto your system that is difficult to remove. It's a sweet scam that earns enough money to pay any number of shills to promote it aggressively. Please understand, that Driver Support is scripted to show you these fake scan results regardless of the computer you are on and how clean and up to date it is. Therefore, do not be concerned by any of the scan results as they are only being shown to scare you into thinking that you have a serious computer problem. I installed their free software. It ran for 5 seconds and claimed that my machine had "28 out of date or missing drivers". After exhaustive checks I could find no evidence that any of my drivers were out of date or missing. I started a thread on the Microsoft Community website and many people replied saying they have had a very poor experience with this company. *****

I make some tests before buy any products, include this. 1. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, and surprise!! Active Optimization components NEVER COME BACK after reinstalled!!!!! It's so creepy especially when you just bought this product WITH Active Optimization subscription and you can't get that features back! 2. As a technologist of some 15 years or better I would like very much to help try and set the record straight concerning driversupport.com. The main purpose on this site is to deliver a PC tool called Driver Support and optimization. After further investigation, this tool contains no "malware or suspicious" bundled software . However WOT is not necessarily focused on the deliverables (the APP) via the website in question, but rather "peoples perceptions" of the of the website and thus the perception of the deliverable ( the APP). Fine lets talk about driversupport.com, this website is perhaps one of the cleanest websites I have looked at in sometime. Notice "No Advertising" for third party websites or products or big brother style "web bugs" (To learn more about Web Bugs go here) (http://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/54280/web-bug) Also on its face driversupport.com website presents its credentials up front, I like that and so should you. The included certifications from McAfee, Microsoft Gold Partner and eTrust are significant certifications. Just one of these is good, three of these important and professional certs are excellent. To understand what these individual certifications provide, try clicking on them to read. McAfee's certifies that the website is checked daily for Malware and vulnerabilities. My final conclusion comes directly from WOT itself. The site owner has been responding and answering several of the different post's concerning its website and APP as well. That kind of professionalism and commitment to due diligence is hard to come by. So the next time your on a website of questionable "reputation" do your due diligence and investigate the issue a little further and deeper. Always use the free support pages of the companies that made your products. Most manufacturers have their own driver-updater software, so use that. These paid-for driver tools show all the sub-components of a single driver install as separate drivers, so will make you think that you need lots of updates, when you probably only need 2. eg. the Motherboard chipset has many sub-components, such as USB that are updated with the same installer. The manufacturer of your PC, motherboard, or card, will have the correct drivers. Once you know what drivers you need, you can find the newest versions on the official sites. eg. If you have a VIA chipset, go to the VIA site. If you have an intel chipset, go to the intel site. Got an nVidia product ? then go to the nVidia site. ***** ***** *****

I have utilized the Driver Detective software for years. I am a paid member with a valid account with them. This site is not for young children only because of the ramifications of what can happen with installations and unistallations of drivers that control the smooth operations of a computer (A/V drivers, mouse, bluetooth, hard drive & DVD drivers, etc.). Installing not quite compatable drivers can be a bear to return from if the wrong one is force installed.

The site is completely safe. They are validated on Google http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=www.driversupport.com they are validated on mcafee https://www.mcafeesecure.com/verify?host=www.driversupport.com and they are Truste compliant which is a big deal ***** My virus scanner doesn't detect anything when I scan them. I use avast and Norton both. They detected my machine and they had the correct drivers, you are paying for the software to make it easy on you to find the right driver and also the technical support should anything go wrong.

The last time I was here in Aug. I didn't have the tools or time to thoroughly check this website out and because it received a bad rating, I just went along till I could come back later to do the job right. As of 10/5/14, I'm not able to find any current warnings of any malware. My new security software warns me of any problems including phising attempts and I'm not getting any of that. This site has some of the most pernicious malware / viruses that I have come across. Very difficult to uninstall and remove it and it's associated popups and messages. I would think their products could be labeled criminal and subject to legal action but then that would require knowledgeable prosecutors.
