Autism Speaks is a horrible charity and organization. Many of its officials—including the founders, Bob and Suzanne Wright—have been cited for endorsing the concept of autism as a "disease" to be cleansed out of the gene pool. They consider autists as genetic mutants and defects and wish to basically eradicate autism; this perception of autism is highly criticized, especially by a number of autism scientists and people who advocate for the concept of Neurodiversity. This organization does NOT represent the autistic community and in fact, many people with autism reject the charity's statements and sponsorships. Autism Speaks is not out to help individuals; it's out to exterminate them. If you don't believe me, feel free to look up the criticisms and books they have published. You'll see for yourself. As a person with high-functioning autism (Asperger Syndrome) and a supporter of Neurodiversity, I refuse to donate to this bigoted, hateful organization. I hope you follow in my footsteps and do not donate a single penny to this destructive cause.

Autism Speaks is irresponsible in portraying the scientifically discredited autism-vaccine hypothesis as a legitimate area of inquiry. This misleads parents and encourages the diversion of autism research resources.
