It's really not worth buying, but as a student I get it free. Autodesk is a near monopoly, so they can afford to over-price software.

This is a good IE plugin for viewing DWF drawings from CAD. The one pitfall is that the latest version 2011 is only good with IE 7 or higher AND you can't find the newer versions very easily.

The autodesk home page. These guys are quiet good, we can see that on their page! And... Team fortress 2 was developed with their stuff (maya)!
