Is bebo.com Safe?

This site is entertaining and useful. There are options for "privacy" settings to avoid hate mail, spam, viral links and other unwanted nuisances. The internet was NEVER developed with youth in mind, so parents...tend to your posts and keep your children safe. Reporting profiles that are in violation of Bebo Terms of Service is one way, (yes if it is adult content, it is in violation! ) Also, Bebo frowns upon "accepting requests" from unknown persons so just do not do it! Enjoy :0).

Be Aware of a person named Lunsey Wilsom who goes by the name of MissLynzWilson.....MissLynseyWilson...or somethong along those lines. She is a user, a scammer, and will befriend you, tell you she loves you after a while, and then will suck money out of you as well as play with your emotions.

Trust me, stay away from social networking (Facebook, Bebo, Myspace...). Especially if you are under 18. You never know who may read your profile. They are a hub of cyberbullies, paedophiles, and if you have any interest in protecting your child, then don't let them use this website. I would go as far as to say not to let them use the internet except for school projects, but peer pressure may force them to sneak onto the computer.

Not the best social-networking site I've come across, simply because it's extreemly cluttered and 'ugly'. There are also several other issues such as, 1) Moderation team are unreliable. (e.g I came across a account where a user was posting rude, hateful and disgusting comments about the death of Baby P) 2) SO MUCH SPAM. I've recieved countless number of spam through email, occasionaly containing links malicious software or websites, so an issue with child safety. And if you thought that YouTube's comment system was annoying with it's countless amount of chain letters, Bebo is worse. Finally, there is always a bot account or 'empty' account that persistantly adds you, tricking users with its erotic profile pictures. (Oh yeah a sexy woman, let's accept her). 3) Generally annoying. Bebo's user community is horrible and full of 10 year olds and idiots. Period. BEBO SUCKS

A lot of content is inappropriate on many profiles, and there are things wrong all over the place. Many fake sites are set up, there are impersonators (they copy others' pages and pretend to be them), paedophiles and those really annoying automated spam messages that go to your mail inbox. Rubbish, really, although if you're mature enough you can cope easily with it.
