Is casting360.com Safe?

Site run by Igor Reiant and a scam gang in Moldova. Claims to offer lists of jobs for movie/TV extras. Demands payment for these lists, often outdated or inaccurate. They continue to spam craigslist and other ad sites, and engage in constant email/text spam - and persistently spam Twitter users using bots (read the Atlantic article linked in Gurbl's post. it is an eye-opener)

I have been a member of this site for many years, and the only mailings I get are for actual casting calls. I have never been 'spammed' with offers of classes or training, although I am in a demographic that has a scarcity of casting needs, so have never gotten any roles, but only because I did not fit the needs. Otherwise I find the site legitimate and have no reason to distrust them.

I made the mistake of signing up for this "company" before I actually read any reviews or did any research. I'll never make the same mistake twice. I was able to cancel my membership and the acting lessons (make it clear you want BOTH canceled!) Now I find out in an e-mail I might not be refunded, per their refund policy: "Membership Termination & Refunds Policy You may cancel your continuity membership at any time with no further obligation. When your continuity membership ends, no future charges will take place and you will automatically lose access to casting call listings and certain other features of Casting360, but your online portfolio will remain active for talent searches by industry professionals. Monthly fees for continuity membership paid prior to your cancelling are NOT refundable." Beware of this SCAM and stay safe online. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
