Useful website, very nice!

Some great content but beware of some of their installers which bundle poor adware. I recommend the content but i would never download from here.

Avant, c'était un bon site. Maintenant, leurs installateurs sont remplis d'#adware à la limite du #malware. Mais certains articles sont quand même intéressants. #PUP

I've been following Cnet for a number of years now and I must admit that the content has been improving over time and a lot of shady software was removed from the portal.

Has many useful reviews however the downloads via cnet can contain some third party software which is questionable.

A lot of interesting information to read and enjoy. Like it. It is safe.

bundles malware with software installation, even if you uncheck the boxes.

This site is good for reading reviews on things, but it is extremely dangerous to install software from here if you don't know what you are doing. For example, CNet tries to keep malware to a minimum on their site, but the installers are sometimes packed with malware, or at least junkware that is extremely hard to get rid of. Get software from the official site if possible, and ALWAYS read the installer carefully so that you can uncheck any malware/junkware it tries to install.

Offers free software for download but you will find at least some of these bundled with malware, so be very aware when installing anything downloaded from here, as you may get way more than you paid for; perhaps advertising malware like stormwatch. Yes, you can still get free software from here, but don't trust it to be clean... Buyer beware! Free downloads but at what cost? Furthermore, and perchance of greater significance; I thought I could trust cnet.com as WOT rated cnet.com as a "green" site. OK, this is the first time that WOT lead me astray in this fashion, more often I see sites that were "blacklisted" for obvious (and mostly worng-headed) political reasons. These blacklisted sites often have some positive WOT user feedback, and most often no negative feedback, which is what I find curious that they are still "blacklisted". This must be some type of site specific global override at WOT headquarters. Perhaps you agree with listing such sites as dangerous, after all, buying anything from such a site could be illegal in some countries, but users found the site safe, and fair trades were made, so I think WOT has shown it's hand, or has been influenced by the government, in either case I find WOT corporate "forced ratings" untrustworthy, and wonder about backroom deals. These blacklisted sites include foreign prescription drug providers, which is why I call the move political. It doesn't look like WOT can actually be trusted in some cases. I wonder that their deal with CNET is, or if a majority of users actually think this site is OK? Is there anyone in charge at WOT corporate willing to address these allegations? Can anyone else verify or substantiate my claims?

I was amazed at the trustworthy rating of this site. I noticed even some people who trusted the site also mentioned to be cautious of downloads. It's a sneaky way to gain revenue and unfortunately other sites link their downloads here. Rather than agree to be cautious, I would suggest avoiding it and download somewhere else.

Reviews, news, and prices on tech products, as well as free downloads and newsletters.

This site is trustworthy, however, their download site, www(dot)download(dot)com, is not really trustable. That site gives you PUPs and malware onto your computer.

Be careful when downloading software from this site.  There has been several cases in which the software was picked up by anti-virus software.

Misleading headlines and loads of clickbait.

Never download anything from CNET. They don't check if there's malware that installs with it.
