Is craigslist.org Safe?

I have bought many thing from this site and been pleased.The way the site is set up is so easy to look for what you need.Just put in your location and state and boom you ready to go.Great site to shop from .They even have a free stuff side on there its great!

***** is a good site in and of itself. However, because of the massive volume of users and posts, the user needs to use reasonable amount of caution when transacting business with posters/buyers. Make sure to read Craigslist's own guidelines on how to protect yourself under: craigslist.org/about/scams This will make your experience safer.

Overall craigslist can be a good site if you are wanting to buy/swap/trade items. They have various sections set up for different type of merchandise, or if you are looking to swap/trade items; and it's based on individual cities. The help wanted section can be useful, but you have to be very careful of scams as well. It has gotten a little better since the site started charging to add listings in this area. The personals section I feel should be password protected and this is where the site loses at child safety. Even the non-adult sections of the personal ads can have inappropriate material; and children have complete access to it. The adult section is just as bad, with all a child having to do is press "yes" button that they are over 18. With a large number of child predators on the internet; I believe craigslist should do more to protect the innocence of our children.

I sold a lot of stuff I never thought I would get rid of on craiglists and I cracked up all the time reading the singles and "looking for" sections.... But this is not anything I would want my kids reading. And I had hundreds of scammers trying to buy from me also. I told them cash only and they left me alone.
