32 bit Trojan detected in their executable (either them or software) with Kaspersky internet security 2014. Their website seems safe to visit, but be warry of what you download.

CNET bundles unwanted programs or/and malware with most of the downloads on their site. Be sure to read EVERY page when installing if you do choose to download files from this now not-so-respectable site.

Software downloaded from ***** appears to often contain unwanted malware installed without your permission or the ability to opt out. This can include software that hijacks your browser's default start pages and search engines. Either ***** is adding this malware itself, or it is not appropriately vetting hosted programs to protect its users.

It's difficult to know what you're actually downloading from CNET these days, the download page has so many "download" links that are not related to the actual download that it's very misleading. Very often if you go to the site of the application that you are downloading WOT or google classifies it as malware. Beware.

This site will add add ons, tool bars and additional extras on downloads, I would recommend that you obtain the software you are seeking to download directly from the actual makers and avoid Cnet!

Cnet ain't what it was. You have to be careful what you click when it comes to the website, and to the installation of files themselves as they will often try to get you to agree to 3rd party apps, often disguising it as apart of the installation. I can no longer give this a positive rating because of the increase in intrusiveness of the Ads.

Do NOT use Download.com, I repeat, do NOT use Download.com.. *****

They have started wrapping some of their downloads in an installer that includes some pretty blatant adware. The adware won't install unless you accept T&C, but when it does it's pretty blatant malware. *****

when you install a program it will try to install other programs too

mac OSX apps from there are served with Adware! be aware and avoid them !
3
Adware coming from their bloatware. Makes you download their installer which is completely unnecessary and just tries to install toolbars, adware, and other sketchy and unnecessary software. While the hosted files themselves are usually legit, their business model is unethical. I strongly advise that you use another source for your software.
