download.comは安全ですか？

Used to be a great, trustworthy repository to install free software from a centralized place, however since after download.com got a new owner, everything went downhill. ***** quite literally stuffed in their adware bundler crap into everything on download.com.

This site CONSISTENTLY downloads 3rd party software with programmes you intend to download, but without authorisation or permission from the user. This is, at best, unethical and at worst dangerous. Several downloads regularly trigger infection alerts for malware, spyware and adware.

A few years back, I downloaded something on this site and I got adware and PUPs on this website, so beware when you're installing a program here. If you ever download something here and get infected, you can run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to get rid of this. However, recently, I revisited this website and looked at the downloads, and saw that there was no installer anymore. I don't know if its just me, but you still must be cautious.

I find many downloads with unwanted software added and it is sometimes difficult to clean from my computer. While I can usually, eventually clean it, lots of less capable people will be stuck with it. Sometimes there is a option to bypass unwanted software but if you had no reason to suspect it would be there you might miss the opportunity.

Great site to download software, but due to them using their own installer for other's software, it asks you if you want to install unwanted programs or change your homepage (Now asks to change your homepage to Yahoo, which is safe) when the "no" button is hidden.

Full of deceptive and malicious adware installs, hard to remove, and reading (malicious details fraudulently hidden in) fine print and opt-out aren't safe either. "Excellent" ratings are completely misguiding and document a total failure of WOT on these adware-ridden download sites! Don't use download.com, softonic or sourceforge, they all feature the same kind of garbage! Get only the complete program you want, never a download manager! These are only trojans to install adware. Never grant system access via UAC, as root or other full access!
