Is duckduckgo.com Safe?

A very well-designed search engine that DOESN'T TRACK YOU. Other Terms of Service are very clear, as the extension "Terms of Service, Didn't Read" gives it a Class A (the highest you can get). Using this as my default search engine instead of Google. It may be a weird transition between the two designs, but it's totally worth it.

DuckDuckGo works to keep your info private, unlike Google and others. The search results are good, and the pages anre clean. In the modern web, you type in ***** to your browser, and: 1. Your browser records and may report this visit to it's publisher. 2. You OS records your visit, and if it is a newer system like Win 10, probably reports to it's publisher. 3. The ISP handling the request mirrors the request for N.S.A. 4. The website is loaded back to the user, and it's trackers report in. 5. Google tracks searches and clicks and builds a profile 6. Sites you select from Google probably use trackers, which report in to Google and others 7. Google info profile is sold, and given to the N.S.A. 8. Other tracker information may also be sold. By using Duckduckgo.com, you are not vanishing behind an impermeable cloak, but you are a little better off.

Very good search engine ! And by default, safe-search is activated and is a quite good protection for children ! - Some people complain about the safe-search not filtering everything but look at Google : it doesn't filter anything by default ! And I don't think you will find a much better safe search engine... If you really want children safety, use extensions to protect them ! - Some other people complain about cookies... but If you don't want cookies, you can block them ! And cookies are essentials to save your settings. (https://duckduckgo.com/settings) The only thing I can complain about, is the lack of some features (or at least I did not find them) like : - min/max size for images search - publication/update date for websites articles/forum, and min/max date parameters in search (for everything) That's all for now !
