Good site, but also tends to be borderline health conspiracy theorist. Site doesn't always align with mainstream science and instead likes to cherry pick studies that push their agenda. Example: GMOs are almost completely backed by the scientific community, but EWG ignores the majority of scientific data in the US and Europe and instead cites the few outliers that contradict that data as if they were the sole beacons of truth. EWG does a careful balancing act between concern and fear-mongering. Although I like their chemical database, they are awfully paranoid.
1
Website owned by The Environmental Working Group (EWG). EWG is an American environmental organization that specializes in research and advocacy in the areas of toxic chemicals, agricultural subsidies, public lands, and corporate accountability.
Helpful
Per "alternative or controversial medicine" claims: there is no medicine being practiced at the EWG, nor is it "alternative" or "controversial" to take a good, hard look at the chemicals wth which we douse ourselves daily. The same information is available on the MSDS for many of the heavy-duty industrial chemicals, just in a more user-friendly, databased format - and a serious look at your bathroom cabinet will probably explain a lot.
Helpful
Good Environmental Awareness website.
2
A site that raises awareness in a series of environmental issues. Helps in making better and healthier choices of various products. Environmental Working Group is a well trusted organization.

Although this site is safe and does not have any drive-by malware, but the rating system have got to change. A lot of products' information are limited, therefore it is not wise to award those products with a "Moderate" rating. Take the information on this site with a grain of salt.
3
The rating system on this site should be modified; Ingredients with high levels of information gap should be asigned a neutral rating instead of a rating that (at first glance) could convey the wrong message -- a product with a rating of 1, for instance, could be interpreted by a user to mean that the product is safe to use, when it may actually be a dangerous product.
