This is a social network website. It is not suitable for young children as they don't understand privacy on the web. Also alot of people don't realize how much they put out there when they put things up on facebook so I can't give it a decent privacy rating as they don't express the fact that if you don't set your page up right, everything you put up is accessable to all on the web. The website also puts it out there that if you accept their terms everything put on their site...they have rights to.

facebook is addictive. a lot of productive time may be lost. use with great discretion with regard to time, ethical and privacy issues.

Facebook is fun. But I wouldn't rate tg high for safety ( giving away info to the world), trustworthiness ( all the "free apps" have a hook behind the bait) or child safety (but they shouldn't be on an open site!).

Not as private. Email address and other details can be accessed by non-friend as well.

Horrible costumer service, spam and phishing are common, allows hateful groups, have seen SOME adult content, but that's rare.
Would not recommend to one who doesn't know the basics of facebook safety, internet safety or under the age of 13. Preferably under the age of 15.
Otherwise a great site to keep in contact with old friends and family members.
