Usually pretending to be calling from Microsoft or Apple victims will receive a phone call and sent to this site after visiting the scammers support site with legitimate links to various desktop support tools. Once connected to your PC they have full control and can do anything they like, such as plant malware or steal your passwords and bank details.

Fake tech support or "authority". Bad behavior may include fake computer error messages or warnings; fake branding as trusted companies (phishing) such as Amazon, Google, or Microsoft, or pretense that such companies are clients; fake trust seals; fraudulent payment methods; and/or poorly-written fluff articles promoting fake services or rogue scare-ware touted to Fix All Problems (impossible). Risks: tracking, spam, credit card fraud, identity theft, malware. Do not call, answer, or follow instructions from these people. Do not allow them to access your computer. Do not download, install, or run their software. Do not provide any financial or personal data. Reference: ***** _https://www.wired.com/2017/03/listen-tech-support-scam-calls-bilk-millions-victims/

My son who is 12 years plays Minecraft and in trying to build his version of the game, so he does searches for the various products that are designed to work into his software version. However those searches lead him to some pretty unscrupulous sites full of “download” URL buttons. These were literally a minefield of malware and viruses waiting to pounce on his little Acer netbook. Well one of them successfully give his PC a combination of a malware and a Trojan virus that left a message to call a number that would assist in removing the virus. Well foolish me I phoned that number thinking it was MS only to find out it was a scam. They call themselves Human Microsystems and they will for a certain sum of money remove all the virus and malware problems on your machine. Funny how the virus and the window to their number showed up at the same time; funny how the gay on the phone knew exactly what virus infected my machine he even gave his company's website remotely to my son's computer (yes, this one) and set up a remote connection called "GoToAssist" which he later attempted to use to sabotage my son’s machine until I shut it down. I had to spend several hours with Norton, who for some reason was not able to stop the infection in the first place, removing 42 or more hits from my son's PC. When she, a technician from the Philippines, was done removing the viruses, I found his Windows 7 start menu was obliterated, administrative tools gone, printer wouldn't function and who knows what else they destroyed in the name of getting our machines on their remote work table and if you don't co-operate well they have some very cute viruses and malware waiting for you. Beware of the 3 aliases they use and if you do a search for them on the internet they are so clever as to bury themselves in as many alias URLs with only good things to say about them that you would not know their bad reputation. Until you go back a few pages then it starts to show things like "the police report we cannot do anything about them ... they are out of our jurisdiction." This sites technician had an obvious Indian accent so I suspect it is based in India, which is too bad because it is going to give India a bad name. One more interesting thing one of their web aliases was asking its clients if they could suggest a new name for their web site. I presume the existing name was getting too much heat. And yes I did get my boy’s computer back to near normal without their help, thank God for that.
