Even with safe search turned on, you'll find pornography or equal. The fact that this is the best web browser on the internet does not weigh up for this. Also, commercialism.

It's true that google tracks a lot of what you do. Just enable noScript and you can see google analytics and syndication on many pages.

If each of us who is browsing is also a browser, then this is indeed a form of browser exploit, to say nothing of the browser software that funnels the web into our computers. The facts alone are frightening. GOOGLE is the most up-to-date and comprehensive browser. It is hard not to use it. GOOGLE keeps information on every web search you make for half of a lifetime, and every search is correlated with your IP address. That means that whatever you think about and dream about, if you look it up... they know. And then there are all the other GOOGLE services that gouge even more deeply into privacy. If you go to ***** you can see photos of people taken sunbathing nude and in other positions of personal compromise. GOOGLE takes pictures for this and other geographical and photographic ventures using satellites, small aircraft and vehicles driving up and down roads. Are you feeling uncomfortable yet? You should be. XeroBank, John Battelle's Searchblog and other privacy thinking brains wonder what is happening, and more to the point, why are not governments doing more to safeguard our privacy, and so should we. The most recent privacy update from GOOGLE is hardly reassuring: "Last modified: March 11, 2009 (view archived versions) - At Google we recognize that privacy is important. This Privacy Policy applies to all of the products, services and websites offered by Google Inc. or its subsidiaries or affiliated companies except DoubleClick (DoubleClick Privacy Policy) and Postini (Postini Privacy Policy); collectively, Google’s “services.” In addition, where more detailed information is needed to explain our privacy practices, we post supplementary privacy notices to describe how particular services process personal information. These notices can be found in the Google Privacy Center. Google adheres to the US Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity, Access and Enforcement, and is registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Safe Harbor Program." Who do you trust with your online information? GOOGLE has at least one new toy out every year. It started out as just a browser, but look at GOOGLE now! A lot of these services involve account sign ups and many of them also involve downloads. How many of these nice free services "help" you by searching your computer for you? Picasa, Desktop do it openly, but GOOGLE downloads are diverse and oh-so-interesting. Oh Web of Trust, Do you TRUST GOOGLE not to send back your information to its big daddy computer, however they justify it???? This is one web site where I would expect to see criticism generously heaped out upon GOOGLE. Despite the fact that it is pretty unarguably the best search engine to deliver plentiful results on topic, it is also one of the most unsafe places to search. Oddly, GOOGLE helps people to believe otherwise by issuing warnings about rogue web sites that may harm your computer as you click on them, to prevent installation of dangerous items by those web sites. They don't do it all that often, but if happens. How ironic that earlier this year on one sleepy Saturday morning every Google web site produced this warning: “Warning Visiting This Web Site May Harm Your Computer!” The notice was pulled, and become a subject of hilarious laughter. But maybe we should not be laughing, and maybe it should not have been removed. Do your own research on this subject, but maybe go to a library. It is hard to search on the internet and not use GOOGLE. Like an itch longing to be scratched, the urge to Google is overwhelming. We don't want to miss any source that Google offers, and it does seem to do it best. But when we google we also goggle [dictionary meaning: to stare with bulging or wide-open eyes] as though we are in a trance or awakening from a nightmare.

Google logs everything you search for and sends it to their ad service, google ads. This way your information will be used to get more advertisement money.
