Is google.com Safe?

Google tracks you! I do trust they only use their info to earn exorbitant amounts of money, and not to build their own profile database to do bad things to their customers. That's what some government agencies are there for. And I have no doubt that to increase national security (nice general term for anything), they will have to share data. Google shows only what pays! The top search results are those which have been promoted with the methods of SEO, Search Engine Optimisation. Those who are not experts of SEO themselves, and that's most people, hire agencies who took courses with google, or otherwise pay money directly or indirectly to google. So there is a lot of cash flow that goes into google rankings. As soon as you enter a commercially attractive search term, be sure that the first page is only full of people who pay to be on top, not those people who post the information you are actually after. Bad news, I don't know a better search engine. The other one is Bing and they also show what pays, they just don't earn the amount of cash the market leader does. Any other independent search engine out there which doesn't rely on google's or bing's backbone? Not sure, and if there is one, also not sure it will be helpful. After all, google became that big because they managed to offer the best search results. Not as good any more, but still good enough to be useful and keep their user base. I LOVE their other products. The world would be more difficult to travel without google maps. Gmail is plain awesome. Big fan of their calendar and contacts and synching with smartphones. I adore android phones. The world would be less amazing without google. I live with the feeling of being somewhat tracked and transparent, and I have to spend a bit more time these days to find what I look for. But isn't there always something?

Good company and services. Trustworthy and reliable. Search engine (and other services) work great. However, they track user data to save in database and use for advertising and sell to 3rd parties, but other websites do it too. However, Google does that in excess. They also track, read, and analyze user data from other services, similar to the manner/uses above. Mostly safe for kids, however, there could be bad user content and search results. Safe search can fix the search results, but it may or may not be that reliable.
