***** is owned by Tucows Inc, which is a registrar of illegal websites. See: ***** (The registrant owner of hover.com is Tucows.com) http://blog.legitscript.com/2015/01/twitter-spat-russian-rogue-internet-pharmacy-operator|website=legitscript.com (tucows is the registrar of illegal websites, owner of hover.com)

Hover is the "retail" side of the domain registration service provided by ***** (which is the wholesale back-end) -- both are owned by Tucows, a major domain name registrar. Tucows has been around for a very long time, is one of the largest registrars, and is quite trustworthy. Their customer service is excellent, their prices are reasonable for most domain names (they're not the cheapest around, but you get what you pay for), and they offer free "whois privacy" for all domains that support it (e.g. com/net/org, etc.). They offer domain registration, free DNS hosting, and paid email service. They do not offer web hosting, though it's quite easy to register your domain name with one company (say, Hover), host your website with another company, and have your mail service provided by a third company. Hover's main focus seems to be on keeping things simple. Although this is excellent for many users, it can be somewhat limiting for more technically-inclined users. For example, they do not currently give users the option of changing the TTL values for DNS entries if one uses their DNS hosting -- of course, one can use a third-party service for DNS hosting and use Hover only for domain registration, so it's not really a major limitation. For the security-inclined, Hover does not current support adding DS records to support DNSSEC. If you require this functionality, a different registrar may be a better choice. In short: Hover is an excellent registrar, particularly for those who want things to be simple, straightforward, and free of needless advertising and upselling.

Harmless, looks nice.

The former domaindirect.com; once a nice, basic service but overpriced by nowadays standards and they keep suffering from outages on key services like email redirects. This site itself is harmless and clean.
