JSTOR is a digital library of academic journals, books, and primary sources.
Great place for past journal articles, similar to EBSCOhost. This is more concentrated on history and is a great place for primary sources (especially for research papers).

They want per article. These are free articles, yet they charge for them.

These assholes make money off free documents! 🙁 And they don't pay the authors of the work?
On January 6, 2011, Aaron Swartz was arrested in connection with systematic downloading of academic journal articles from JSTOR, which became the subject of a federal investigation. JSTOR offended Swartz mainly for two reasons: it charged large fees for access to these articles but did not compensate the authors and it ensured that huge numbers of people are denied access to the scholarship produced by America's colleges and universities.
– So why is JSTOR allowed to make millions and millions of dollars when they are breaking copyright laws themselves? Yet they help kill Aaron by trying to give him 50 years of hard prison time???
RIP Aaron Swartz we will remember you. A true Robin Hood in a world of greed.
The JSTOR collections are available at thousands of participating libraries and institutions. Only available online via certain requirements.
