Is minecraft.net Safe?

It is completely safe, and all downloads and purchases are official, and free of viruses. The game is a great way for friends to interact, and use their imagination, and show it in many different ways, but just as many other websites these days, there are bad people that you need to look out for.

I've had numerous issues with minecraft.net, including being redirected to malicious pages that tried to install malware on my computer (thankfully, it was Linux). But recently, I installed Minecraft on my new Windows 10 computer and it was blocked by Avast Antivirus. It was also a different version than the modern one. ***** I believe. My brother informed me that that is the wrong version. I installed the MSI file, which is their main install button. I did the EXE file and it was fine. Basically, I think that Minecraft has been hacked numerous times. I don't trust their site to be safe.

Great website and game to play for kids (and even adults)! However, there may be some scams/malware just like there is in other games. It's not on the game itself, but the files you download from other sources besides minecraft.net. You can play safely and have fun without downloading anything besides the game.
