Messenger plus! is an add on for Windows Live Messenger, and as far as I know, also now available for Skype. On first uses of Messenger Plus! the program worked flawlessly, and when I chose not to install the toolbar it didn't install. Bingo! How ever, on a latest update for the add on, I also chose NOT to install the toolbar. Despite this, it installed anyway. Uninstalling it was quite a hassle, and making sure it was completely gone. Using Firefox's add/remove feature didn't work and I had to go into the actual uninstall programmes to get it removed, not including it took some amount of time to remove. I'm nearly positive I chose not to install the toolbar, and it installed anyway, so something is wrong here.
It's important to note the latest versions are adware-free, even though some antivirus (e.g.: NOD32) still detect the program as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). The program is clean, though.
Hi, I'm the Community Liaison for Yuna Software, the company that owns Messenger Plus! and its satellite sites. Messenger Plus! version 5.0 is a safe and free add-on to Windows LIve Messenger. Plus! 5 and its previous versions have been downloaded more than 500 million times worlwide, enhancing Messenger since 2001. It contains no spyware. The references to spyware from users relate to previous sponsor programs that have not been linked to on the site or available on the software for years. The installation process is transparent to users so that they can choose what to do during each stage of the download. If you download the software from this (official) site, there should be no problems with trojans or malware warnings.
What about giving this website a bad rate until they change to a trustworthy sponsor? Or soon with a simple wrong click we'll have our computers full of crap.
Good site, as for the program, just don't install the sponsor and you're 100% fine. It does a person good to not just click through installers blindly to begin with.
