Very good concept but easily abused by irresponsible and bitter raters. Many sites I know to be 100% safe and child friendly are downrated by groups of haters who flood a site with poor ratings for philosophical differences rather than actual site status and safety. This is abuse of the system, much like the federal gov.

WOT tells you how much people trust websites. If you disagree with a reputation, you can rate the site yourself. If you own a website that you feel is rated unfairly by others, here's what you can do:

WOT has become a tool used by certain elements to try and damage the credibility of reputable websites and spread scare stories about these websites.
WOT needs to find away to stop this type of behaviour or it will lose it's own credibility.

WOT tells you how much people trust websites, and it seems most of them find certain alternative medicine sites untrustworthy. If you disagree, you can rate the sites yourself.

Das kleine Programm „Web of Trust“ (WOT) zeigt Warnungen an, wenn man sich auf einer Internetseite bewegt, die betrügerische Absichten hat. Dafür kann man ein kostenloses Plug-in für alle gängigen Browser laden (Link siehe rechte Spalte). Die Software zeigt dann im Browser an, ob eine Website vertrauenswürdig ist (grüner Punkt) oder ob Misstrauen angebracht ist (roter Punkt). Diese Bewertungen werden auch begründet. Man sieht also, warum eine Website als nicht vertrauenswürdig eingestuft wurde. Außerdem sind sie auch in den Ergebnislisten einer Google-Suche zu finden.

Die Idee von Wot ist gut, aber leider gibt es Leute/User bei Wot die wahllos irgendwelche Seiten Betrügereien unterstellen können. Wenn man sich dann die bewertete Webseite ansieht stellt man oft fest, dass auf der Seite gar nichts verkauft wird. Sobald ich die Bewertungen von Kraftwerk und Kaffeetante lese, stellt es mir die Nackenhaare hoch. Immer der gleiche Spruch - wahllos- bei Wot eingestellt. Solche User zerstören den Ruf von Wot. Dadurch wird Wot nutzlos und eher zum Ärgernis!!
