Is mywot.com Safe?

I noticed that plum choice is rated poor even though sites that you rate excellent think it's great.Here is an example ***** Now my brother uses it for his company and is very satisfied though maybe their it not for everyone.I looked up the user who rated them poor and he has a bunch of technical stuff that proves nada.! Could their be an ax to grind over at ***** That is the web site of hpHosts who rated them poor . If you check out Host's downloads it is hard to figure what they are up to. To a newbee this site might rate as confusing. I think they are doing that old but dangerous hosts trick to keep ads away because but there are so many better ways to avoid adverts with the advent of win XP..I didn't study the site because Iwas just looking for the proof of mal ware charge. The whole hosts thing has been going on so long that it is like a cult hence it has a slew of excellent voters. To each his own but messing with the hosts file is very much a late 1990's phenom. There are many free programs out there like search and destroy (uses hosts file)and ad-aware,ad block plus for FFox,etc that safely get that job done.
